Approved Use: It is FDA-approved only for the temporary relief of coughs and upper respiratory symptoms caused by allergies or the common cold Adults Only: It is strictly indicated for adults 18 years of age and older. Standard Adult Dosage: The typical dose is 5 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed. You must never exceed 6 doses (30 mL) in any 24-hour window. Always measure the liquid with an accurate milliliter syringe or dosing cup, never a standard kitchen spoon • Pediatric Danger: It is strictly contraindicated in children under 12 years old, and should not be given to anyone under 18.
